Ursula Euteneuer-Rohrer (born April 26, 1953 in Karlsruhe ) is a German composer , music teacher and pianist .

Life

Ursula Euteneuer-Rohrer received private piano lessons and lessons in music theory at the Baden Conservatory in Karlsruhe from 1969. She studied composition and music theory with Eugen Werner Velte as well as piano with Valentin Rybing and Herbert Seidemann at the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe . In 1976 she passed the state music teacher examination in music theory, and in 1978 in piano. The concert exam in composition followed in 1981. In 1976, 1978 and 1982 Ursula Euteneuer-Rohrer received scholarships at the Darmstadt Summer Courses for New Music, a. a. with Karlheinz Stockhausen and György Ligeti . From 1976 to 1980 she took on tutorials in music theory at the Karlsruhe University of Music. From 1993 to 2012 she taught music theory, piano and composition as a teacher at the Baden Conservatory in Karlsruhe. Ursula Euteneuer-Rohrer is a member of the Piano Podium Karlsruhe, GEDOK Karlsruhe, the Tonkünstlerverband Baden-Württemberg, GEMA and the German Composers Association (DKV). Ursula Euteneuer-Rohrer has been married to the drummer Manfred Rohrer since 1979.

Euteneuer-Rohrer's first compositions were written at the age of eleven. She won composition prizes, a. a. at the International Fanny Mendelssohn Competition in Unna and at the GEDOK International Competition for Women Composers in Mannheim. Inspired by the collaboration with the drummer Manfred Rohrer, numerous compositions for various types of percussion were created. The artistic collaboration with the singer Rita Huber from 2004 onwards led to free improvisations and concept improvisations. In 2012, her work Fin , a spatial sound concept for percussion instruments (six players), live electronics, playback CD and orchestra was performed in the Städtische Galerie in Karlsruhe during the European Culture Days. Ursula Euteneuer-Rohrer handed over her works to the Badische Landesbibliothek in 2012 and 2013 . New works are also archived in the Baden State Library.
