Ursula GT Mueller

Ursula GT Müller (* 1944 ) was State Secretary in the Ministry for Women, Youth, Housing and Urban Development in Schleswig-Holstein until 1999 .

From 1963 she first studied mathematics and physics at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main, where she obtained her doctorate in 1967 . The subsequent five-year research stay at the University of Pennsylvania brought her to feminism , according to her own account .

Back in Germany, she studied sociology , political science and psychology at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen from 1972 to 1979 . Her sociological master's thesis dealt with "Sexual Morality in Late Capitalism". She then worked in a municipal women's shelter , worked as a research assistant at the Center for Psychosomatic Medicine at the University of Gießen and later worked as the city of Hanover's equal opportunities officer . In 1996 she was appointed State Secretary for Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen under Minister Angelika Birk in the second state government of Heide Simonis in Kiel.

Retired in 1999, she is now involved with Attac .
