Ursula Schulz-Dornburg

Ursula Schulz-Dornburg (* 1938 in Berlin ) is a German photographer and artist . She lives and works in Düsseldorf . Your concrete consistent in theme and execution of works (mostly black and white ) are the "conceptual photography" as close as the " documentary " .

Life

Ursula Schulz-Dornburg was born in Berlin in 1938 as the daughter of an architect. In 1959 and 1960 she studied photography and journalism in Munich. In 1967 her family lived in New York, in 1969 the photographer moved to Düsseldorf. She was inspired by encounters with artists such as Dan Flavin , Michael Heizer , and Walter De Maria at the Venice Biennale . The artist also finds her photo opportunities in the remote regions of the world.

The daughter Julia Schulz-Dornburg has been chairwoman of the board of trustees of the Gerda Henkel Foundation since 1999 .
