The Ushki Lake ( Russian Озеро Б. Ушковское (Ушки) ; English Ushki Lake ) is centrally located on the Kamchatka Peninsula in the far east of Russia .
The 1.85 km² large Ushki Lake is located on the right bank of the Kamchatka , about 220 km above its confluence with the Pacific Ocean . The lake is located 13.5 km north of the village of Kozyrevsk .
Fish fauna
The freshwater char Salvelinus kuznetzovi occurs in Lake Ushki . However, their species status is controversial.
Archaeological site
There is an archaeological site at Lake Ushki. Evidence has been found of a settlement of people who lived there about 13,000 years ago. The find is related to the colonization of America .
