The Usnea Plug is a volcanic hill about 110 m high on Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It rises less than half a mile southwest of Chester Cone on the Byers Peninsula . It measures 30 m from the base to the tip.
The geologist Kaye Ronald Everett (1934-1994) from the Institute for Polar Studies at Ohio State University named him when he explored this area in February 1969. Namesake are lichens of the genus Usnea , which are common here.
