The Utah State Route 95 ( SR-95 ) is a 195.3 km long highway in Utah . It begins in Hanksville on Utah State Route 24 and ends on US Highway 191 . The highway crosses the White Canyon River , the Colorado River , twice the Dirty Devil River and the northeast end of Lake Powell .

It was completed in 1976 and is therefore called the Bicentennial Highway because of the 200th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence . It is designated a National Scenic Byway for its full length because of the spectacular scenery .
