The Utarper Mühle is a former earth Dutchman in Utarp , a member municipality of the Holtriem municipality in the Wittmund district in Lower Saxony .

history

A post mill is said to have stood in Utarp as early as 1684 . It was replaced by a Dutch windmill in 1909. In 1960 the upper part of the mill was dismantled and sold to Bad Zwischenahn in order to be used there to rebuild the former Hüllsteder mill in the spa gardens. In the remainder of the Utarper mill, motor power was used for a few years. The remains of the building have been preserved as ruins .
