Ute Brückner (born February 1, 1959 in Leipzig ; today's name Ute Hascher-Brückner ) is a former German swimmer who started for the GDR . She was active in sports from 1969 to 1977.

Career

Brückner trained and started for the SC DHfK Leipzig since 1969 . Over the years freestyle and butterfly developed into their parade routes. The first successes came in 1971. In 1973 she became Spartakiade winner . Brückner won the biggest international title at the 2nd World Championships in 1975 in Cali / Colombia under the swimming coach Jochen Rudloff with the women's 4 x 100 meter freestyle relay. This season was not only world champion, but also swam a world record with a time of 3: 49.37 min and thus undercut the mark of 3: 50.00 min for the first time. The season line-up consisted of Kornelia Ender , Claudia Hempel , Barbara Krause and, as the final swimmer, Ute Brückner. Brückner successfully prevailed against Shirley Babashoff on this route . This event was the highlight of her career. Her career ended in 1977 with the GDR championships in Leipzig.
