Ute Dix

Ute Dix , married Ute Zillmann (born September 10, 1955 in Reichenbach 1 , Saxony ), is a former German speed skater who was twice  GDR champion  . She took part in  the  Winter  Olympics for the German Democratic Republic in 1976  and started for  SC Karl-Marx-Stadt .

Career

Dix won her first German championship title at the GDR speed skating championships in 1973 . In the big all-around competition, she secured the title. She secured her second GDR championship title at the GDR championships in speed skating in 1976 in her native Karl-Marx-Stadt . She won over the 1000 m ahead of Ines Bautzmann and Heike Lange . In addition, she secured at least one silver medal and four bronze medals at the GDR championships in speed skating.

In 1976 she was nominated by the National Olympic Committee of the GDR for the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck and started there over the 500 and 1000 m. While she took 21st place over 1000 m, she finished the 500 m competition in 20th place.
