The Taluk Uthukkottai ( Tamil : ஊத்துக்கோட்டை வட்டம் ) is a Taluk (sub-district) of the Tiruvallur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu . The main town is the eponymous city of Uthukkottai .

geography

The Taluk Uthukkottai is located in the center of the Tiruvallur district on the border with the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh . It borders on the Taluks Gummidipoondi in the northeast, Ponneri in the east and Tiruvallur in the south. In the northwest lies the state border with Andhra Pradesh.

The Taluk Uthukkottai is congruent with the block Ellapuram. Its area is 251 square kilometers.
