Uwe-Dietmar Berlit (born May 6, 1956 in Hanover ) is a German lawyer , honorary professor and presiding judge at the Federal Administrative Court .

Life

Uwe-Dietmar Berlit studied law at the University of Hanover from 1974 to 1981 as part of the one-stage legal training . Berlit began his legal career in 1981 at the Hanover Administrative Court . From there he was from early 1985 until January 1988 as a research assistant at the Federal Constitutional Court , and from May 1991 to September 1993 as a research associate at the University of Hannover seconded . Furthermore, he was on leave from October 1993 to June 1994, the SPD - faction in the German Parliament in connection with the reform of the Basic Law to advise. This was followed by a secondment as a research assistant to the Lower Saxony State Court until March 1995. In 1994 he was appointed judge at the Lüneburg Higher Administrative Court . In 1995 he was at the University of Hannover a doctorate in law doctorate . From the beginning of 1999 to the end of 2001 he was seconded by the Higher Administrative Court to the Lower Saxony Ministry of Finance as head of department . Uwe-Dietmar Berlit was appointed honorary professor at the University of Hanover in 2001.

Since 2002 he has been a judge at the Federal Administrative Court and was assigned to the 5th appeal panel of the court. The 5th Senate deals with welfare law, the law for the severely disabled, youth welfare and youth protection law and the law of citizenship . He also became an IT officer at the Federal Administrative Court. In August 2004 he became honorary professor at the University of Leipzig and at the beginning of May 2011 he became the presiding judge at the Federal Administrative Court. He currently chairs the 1st Audit Senate, which u. a. deals with migration law (asylum, immigration and nationality law), association law and general data protection law. Since July 2012 he has also been a judge at the Constitutional Court of the Free State of Saxony .

He is a co-author of comments on citizenship law, the social security code and the administrative court order and co-editor of the journal Informations zum Arbeitslosenrecht und Sozialhilfe (info also) and is a member of the board of the Association of German EDV Court Days. He was also the state chairman of the Working Group of Social Democratic Lawyers (ASJ) in Saxony until 2012 .
