Uwe Fröhlich
Uwe Fröhlich (born August 29, 1960 in Sarstedt ) is a German bank manager and has been co-chairman of the DZ Bank since January 1, 2019 .
Life
After training as a banker, Fröhlich studied business administration. From 1985 to 1989 Fröhlich initially worked at Arthur Andersen Management Consulting in Hamburg. In 1989 he came to IBM Germany , where his last position as general manager was in charge of the Financial Services division (credit institutions). In 2001 Fröhlich joined the board of directors of Berliner Volksbank , the largest local cooperative bank. In 2008 Fröhlich then moved to the association level and became a member of the board of the Federal Association of German Volksbanks and Raiffeisenbanks (BVR) . In the same year Fröhlich became president of the BVR. After almost ten years on the board of directors of the BVR, Fröhlich switched to the cooperative DZ Bank as a general manager on November 1, 2017 . Against the background of the greater separation of the holding and commercial bank functions at DZ Bank, Uwe Fröhlich and Cornelius Riese were appointed as co-chairmen of the DZ Bank Management Board on January 1, 2019.

Fröhlich is chairman of the supervisory board of the companies of the DZ Bank Group: DZ Hyp , DZ Privatbank , VR Smart Finanz .

Member of the German Group of the Trilateral Commission in Europe (as of December 2019).
