World Heritage Sites in the Seychelles

The world heritage in the Seychelles (as of 2016) includes two UNESCO world heritage sites , both of which are world natural heritage sites. The island state of Seychelles in the Indian Ocean joined the World Heritage Convention in 1980, and the first World Heritage site was added to the World Heritage List in 1982. The so far last World Heritage Site in the Seychelles was registered in 1983.

World heritage sites

The following table lists the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in XYZ in chronological order according to the year of their inclusion in the World Heritage List (K - cultural heritage, N - natural heritage, K / N - mixed, (R) - on the Red List of World Heritage in Danger ).

Aldabra Atoll 1982 N 185 Aldabra is the largest atoll in the Indian Ocean. It is under strict protection and has therefore largely been able to preserve its original flora and fauna.
Vallée de Mai nature reserve 1983 N The nature park is located on the island of Praslin . It is one of the world's smallest national park areas. The Vallée de Mai is home to the Seychelles palm .

Tentative list

The sites that are potentially suitable for being designated as World Heritage are entered in the tentative list . Currently (2016) two sites are entered in the tentative list of the Seychelles, the last entry was made in 2013. The following table lists the sites in chronological order according to the year of their inclusion in the tentative list.
