Uwe Freiler (born May 2, 1966 in Limbach, Saarland ) is a former German soccer player and coach .

Player career

Uwe Freiler moved from his youth club FC Palatia Limbach to FC 08 Homburg in 1983 . From 1984 he played with his club in the professional field and made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga on August 11, 1984 - the 1st matchday of the 1984/85 season . In 1986 he even rose to the Bundesliga with Homburg . After four years as a regular for Homburg in the professional business, he moved to season 1988/89 to SV Waldhof Mannheim , who also played in the Bundesliga. After a renewed engagement with FC Homburg from 1993 to 1995, he was disabled due to a torn cruciate ligament. After his injury he played for FK Pirmasens and finally for his hometown club Palatia Limbach.

Coaching career

From 2006 to 2011 Freiler was a coach at his former club FC Palatia Limbach in the Saarland League. Due to time and family reasons, he had to stop.

Others

Uwe Freiler is a sales representative for specialist literature. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Bundesliga in 2013, Freiler was elected to a “Saarland Jubilee Elf”. All Saarlanders who had played in the Bundesliga since 1963 were up for a vote, which was organized by Ellenfeld eV and the Saarpark Center .
