Uwe Groß (painter)
Uwe Groß (born September 23, 1963 in Frankfurt am Main ; † November 23, 2013 in Frankfurt am Main) was a German painter .
Life
Uwe Groß studied industrial design from 1981 to 1984 at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach am Main and from 1989 to 1995 painting under Jörg Immendorff at the Städelschule in Frankfurt. In 1995 he became Immendorff's first master class student.
Uwe Groß exhibited for the first time in 1990 in a group exhibition at the Städelschule. In 1992 he worked on the set design of the WDR television studio at ART Cologne . The following year his first solo exhibition took place in the “Café Cult” in Frankfurt.
In 1997 he designed a mural for Bost (Städel) and the following year he took part in a group exhibition of Immendorff's master students at the Wiesbaden Kunsthaus . Since 2000 he has a. in the Kunstverein Hohenaschau im Chiemgau , twice in the Zeche Zollverein , in the Kunstraum Hanau am Main , in the Stadtmuseum Hattingen and in the Kunsthalle Darmstadt .
Uwe Groß's works can be found in private and public collections in Germany near the city of Frankfurt, at BRITA in Taunusstein , in the Hattingen City Museum as well as in other collections in other European countries, in Korea and Singapore .
