Uwe Holy (born June 4, 1940 in Stuttgart ) is a German entrepreneur in the textile industry.

Life

Uwe Holy was born in 1940 as the grandson of Hugo Boss , the founder of the clothing manufacturer of the same name . As the son of Hugo Boss' son-in-law, Eugen Holy, who had inherited the Hugo Boss company, Uwe Holy's training was geared towards the goal of starting a career in his father's company with his younger brother Jochen Holy . For this purpose, he went through an apprenticeship as a bank clerk, and later, after studying business administration , he received a degree in business administration.

Jochen Holy’s professional career is closely linked to that of his brother and largely coincides with his. Their careers began for both of them when they joined the family business in 1969. In the following years they rebuilt the company profoundly and placed it in the luxury segment, sales also multiplied under their leadership. The Holy Brothers formed the company into a competitive company of international standing. The areas of responsibility within the company management were clearly divided between the brothers: Uwe was responsible for administration, personnel and procurement, the other areas fell within Jochen's area of ​​responsibility. After losing their majority in the company with the sale of shares in 1989, they withdrew entirely from Hugo Boss AG in 1993.

During the final phase of their commitment to Hugo Boss AG, the Holy brothers founded the men's fashion brand Strellson in 1984 . Since retiring from the top management of Hugo Boss AG, the brothers' main entrepreneurial focus has been on Strellson AG, based in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland, and its subsidiary Windsor , which has been operating as the Holy Fashion Group since 2005 .

Villa Wacker in Lindau (Lake Constance) has been owned by the entrepreneur since 1986 .

The Holy brothers are also active in real estate management. Holy GmbH & Co. KG , founded in 1995 and now trading as Holy AG , operates the Outletcity Metzingen .

Uwe Holy lives in Ermatingen , Thurgau . Like his brother, he has three children. According to an estimate by manager magazin in 2012, the Holy brothers are among the 200 richest Germans.
