Uwe Pischel

Uwe Pischel (* 1973 in Frankfurt (Oder) ) is a German chemist and professor at the Research Center for Sustainable Chemistry ( Spanish Centro de Investigación en Química Sostenible - CIQSO) at the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Huelva .

Life

From 1984 to 1993 Pischel attended the Gauß-Gymnasium in his hometown . He studied chemistry at the Technical University of Dresden and at the Humboldt University in Berlin , which he graduated with a diploma in 1998. He received his doctorate in 2001 from the University of Basel with a thesis on organic photochemistry. A postdoctoral fellowship at the Polytechnic University of Valencia followed in 2002 through a scholarship from the German Research Foundation .

In 2003 he went to the University of Porto . With a Ramon y Cajal scholarship, he went to the Polytechnic University of Valencia and in 2007 to the University of Huelva, where he taught organic chemistry as Professor Contratado Doctor from 2009 (roughly comparable to an Academic Council ) and from 2012 as Associate Professor . In 2015 he received his habilitation as a full professorship (Catedrático universitario).

Pischel's research areas are in particular photochemistry and supramolecular chemistry . He wrote over 90 papers (as of 2017).
