Uwe Schneider (* 1964 in Berlin ) is a German radio journalist and media manager.

Career

At the age of 12, he founded the band The Teens in 1976 . It sold over 5 million records between 1978 and 1983 and received the Bravo Otto , Goldener Hammer and Goldenes Popcorn awards and honors . Later he worked for the radio station RIAS Berlin . In 1987 he switched to the private radio station Hundert, 6 .

As a moderator and editor, he invented commercial broadcast formats such as “Wanted Noise” “Hello Popcorn”. For Sat.1 Berlin he developed local show and play concepts. As the founder and managing director of a TV production, he produced features for MDR , ORB and Deutsche Welle for several years . He developed the first German / American radio program "Charlie 87.9" and headed it as program director. In 1997 he started his own business as a consultant and developed a. a. digital and strategic concepts for public and private radio broadcasters. At the end of the 1990s he was appointed program director of the Saxon local radio stations (later BCS). He ran the program until the end of 2010. His inventions included “Who or what am I”, morning girls and “Blue Tour”. At the same time, he developed the children's and family radio Teddy , which went on air for the first time from Potsdam for Berlin and Brandenburg in August 2005 and which he headed as founding managing director and program director in the early years. He is still associated with the station as a partner. Then he was managing director and program director of the Hamburg Alsterradio . With the special fields of children's radio and strategic product development, he is a lecturer at seminars. He is the founding managing director of the first German job center for media professionals "Media-Jobcenter.de".

In terms of music, Schneider now mainly works in the production of radio jingles and as a studio musician. He wrote and played jingles a. a. for Radio Teddy , Radio Dresden and Hitradio RTL together with Peter Freudentaler ( Fools Garden ). He is a permanent guest of the glam rock formation "Final Stap" of the prince- singer Tobias Künzel .

Since 2015 he has been working - with his former RIAS colleague Andreas Dorfmann , among others - at the Potsdam radio station BHeins , mainly as a so-called " station voice ", but occasionally also as a moderator.
