Uwe Vetterick (born February 25, 1969 in Greifswald ) is a German journalist and editor-in-chief of the Sächsische Zeitung .

Career

Uwe Vetterick began his career as a journalist with a traineeship at Greifswalder Tageblatt. From 1993 to 2006, Vetterick was editor-in-chief for Berlin and New Federal States and deputy editor-in-chief at Bild-Zeitung . In 2006 he switched to the Tages-Anzeiger in Zurich as deputy editor - in-chief .

On February 1, 2007, Uwe Vetterick succeeded Hans Eggert as the new editor-in-chief of the Sächsische Zeitung . With this, Vetterick won the German Local Journalist Prize of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation for the SZ Family Compass in 2013 . A year later, Uwe Vetterick was the third winner in the category "Regional Editor-in-Chief" in Medium Magazin 's choice of "Journalists of the Year". In 2015, Vetterick won the election for Editor-in-Chief of the Year (regional). One of the innovations he introduced there was the Schul-Navigator online portal .

Vetterick is married, has two children and lives in Radebeul .
