Barajul Poiana Uzului dam

The Uz ( Hungarian Úz ) is a right tributary of the Trotuș (Hungarian Tatros ) in Romania .

It rises in the Ciuc Mountains (Munții Ciucului) - a mountain range of the Eastern Carpathians -, flows in Harghita County and near the small town of Dărmăneşti in Bacău County , it flows east of the national road 12A and the Sfântu Gheorghe – Siculeni – Adjud railway into the Trotuş.

In 1973 the Uz was partially dammed by an 84 meter high and 507 meter long dam ( ). The district road (Drum județean) DJ 123 runs along it .
