Uzungeçit (kurd. Derahine ) is a small town in the district of Uludere in the Turkish province of Şırnak . Uzungeçit is located in the Turkish-Iraqi border region in southeastern Anatolia at 1,550 m above sea level, approx. 17 km northeast of Uludere. The original name of the village is Derhîn. Uzungeçit received the status of Belediye in 1973.

In 1980, 2,100 people lived in Uzungeçit. In 2009 the village had 2,816 inhabitants.

Uzungeçit is located in the eastern Taurus at a junction of two narrow basins. The two highest points in the immediate vicinity are Mount Tanin and Mount Kel Mehmet ("Kahler Mehmet"). Winters are cold and snowy, summers hot and dry. The region is rural. The main source of income for the male population is village protection . In addition, livestock is farmed.

In terms of traffic, Uzungeçit can be reached from the district town via two streets. The shorter route leads over a pass and is not passable in winter.
