Väinö Bremer
Väinö or Wäinö Elias Bremer (born April 24, 1899 in Turku , † December 23, 1964 in Kerava , Uusimaa ) was a Finnish athlete and skier .
Bremer was at the Winter Olympics in 1924 as a soldier captain of the Finnish team at the military patrol race and won with August Eskelinen , Heikki Hirvonen and Martti Lappalainen the silver medal . In the same year he finished ninth in the modern pentathlon at the Summer Olympics .
He died when his Beechcraft Baron crashed on the approach to Helsinki-Vantaa Airport near Kerava.
