Varsta is a locality ( tätort ) in the municipality of Botkyrka the Swedish province of Stockholm County and the historic province of Södermanland . The settlement is located north of Lake Malmsjön and has almost 2500 inhabitants (2015).

Vårsta emerged from the 1950s as a decentralized place with single-family houses. Over the years, several terraced houses and apartment buildings were added. A supply center with a supermarket, various restaurants and other small businesses was also built. The village has a modern wooden church and a school for elementary, middle and upper grades. Some high school students commute to the nearby Tumba .

Vårsta is connected to the towns of Nynäshamn , Södertälje and Tumba via bus lines .
