Věra Tichánková

Věra Tichánková (born December 7, 1920 in Žarnovická Huta , † January 9, 2014 in Prague ) was a Czech actress . She was the wife of the Czech actor and playwright Jan Skopeček .

Life

In her youth she became interested in chemistry and began a corresponding university course. She later switched to acting at the Prague Conservatory . During the German occupation of Czechoslovakia she was active in the resistance and was imprisoned in Theresienstadt . It was later moved to Dresden , where it survived the air raids of February 13-14, 1945 . She experienced the end of the Second World War in Leipzig .

When she returned to Prague, she and her future husband were actively involved in rebuilding the theater landscape. Since 1958 she also appeared as an actress on Czechoslovak television.
