The VR-Bank eG Chattengau was a regionally active credit union . It was based in Gudensberg in the north of the Schwalm-Eder district in Hesse .

The cities and communities Gudensberg , Wabern , Guxhagen , Edermünde , Niedenstein and Fuldabrück belonged to the business area of the bank . The bank had a total of nine branches and one self-service branch.

In 2017, VR-Bank Chattengau eG and VR-Bank Schwalm-Eder Volksbank Raiffeisenbank eG merged to form today's VR PartnerBank Chattengau-Schwalm-Eder .
VR-Bank Chattengau eG was created in 2000 from Volksbank + Raiffeisenbank Gudensberg eG, Raiffeisenbank Wabern eG and Raiffeisenbank Chattengau eG. In 2001, the merger with Raiffeisenbank Guxhagen eG followed. The origins of the bank go back to 1881. The name of the bank was derived from the history of the region. The locations of the business area were the core area of the chat . That is why the region still bears the name Chattengau today.
In 2013 the bank celebrated its 150th anniversary.
Foundation, endowment
In 2007 the home foundation of VR-Bank Chattengau eG was founded. The aim of the foundation is to promote the region, especially clubs and associations. Funding from the Heimatstiftung is project-related at the request of the clubs and associations. The Board of Trustees and the Board of Trustees decide on the use of funds.
