history
On December 3, 1925, 29 Freudenberg citizens held the founding meeting of Freudenberger Bank eGmbH zu Freudenberg. In order to document that the bank is open to all social classes, the General Assembly decided on December 1, 1941 to rename it to Volksbank Freudenberg eGmbH. In 1978 the merger with Raiffeisenbank Friesenhagen took place. In 2008, Volksbank Freudenberg eG merged with Raiffeisenbank Niederfischbach eG, which was founded on February 17, 1907 under the name “Spar- und Kreditkassenverein eGmbH”. This resulted in today's VR-Bank Freudenberg-Niederfischbach eG.
