Val Gronda (Mulegns)

The Val Gronda ( Rhaeto-Romanic val 'valley' and gronda , feminine from grond for 'large') is a valley in the Swiss canton of Graubünden near Mulegns in the municipality of Surses . It is 4.8 km long and up to 2.8 km wide.

The Val Faller valley is a left side valley of the Oberhalbstein and extends from Mulegns to Plang, where it is divided into two side valleys: to the southeast of Piz Platta ( 3392  m above sea level ) the Val Bercla and north of Piz Platta the Val Gronda. The Val Gronda stretches from Plang ( 1950  m above sea level ) to the passes Tälifurgga ( 2817  m ), Fuorcla Curtegns ( 2657  m ) and Fuorcla Cagniel ( 2748  m ). The Averstal can be reached via the Tälifurgga via Täli, the Averstal via the Fuorcla Curtegns via Val Starlera or the Val Nandro via Val Curtegns . The Val Curtegns can also be reached via the Fuorcla Cagniel. The valley is enclosed by Piz Platta ( 3392  m ) in the south, Mittlerberg ( 3001  m ) and Usser Wissberg ( 3052  m ) in the west and Piz Cagniel ( 2975  m ) and Piz Forbesch ( 3261  m ) in the north.

The Val Gronda is traversed by the Ragn da Val Gronda, which flows through the Val Faller at Faller together with the Ragn da Val Bercla and under the name Ragn da Faller . The brook flows into the Julia near Mulegns .
