action

The day laborer Vicente Rodríguez, who lives in Guayaquil , learns of the death of his father, who had an accident in a bus, while working on a construction site. When he comes to his small house in a poor suburb of the metropolis, dejected, he catches his girlfriend having sex with another man. For the first time, his girlfriend tells Vicente what she really thinks about him, that he is a poor failure. Vicente then goes back to the city center to drink his frustration with his life from his soul.

Also in the city center is the sports agent Andy Bello, who returned to his Ecuadorian homeland after his girlfriend in Los Angeles turned down his marriage proposal. Andy meets up with some old friends downtown and leaves them briefly to buy something to eat. He is attacked by three gangsters. Vicente, who happens to be nearby, defends Andy and drives the three robbers to flight. Sports agent Andy immediately recognized Vicente's talent and offered him a professional career as a fighter. Vicente is enthusiastic and agrees. The two men rediscover their courage to face life and become good friends. Vicente first received lessons in Jiu Jitsu from a top Brazilian fighter . Then he should prove himself in illegal amateur fights organized by the mafia godfather Don Pepe. Vicente manages to win all of these fights and is ready for a professional career.

Andy manages to introduce Vicente to Royce Gracie , a star in the scene , through contacts . He provides Vicente with one of his best coaches - Ian. Andy organizes Vicente his first professional fight in Las Vegas , which Vicente can win.

Reviews

“A nobody from the deepest provinces conquers the hotel palace arenas of Las Vegas in this cage-fighting drama of the more realistic kind that is convincingly built for little money. The discoverer of the underdog also plays a key role, both embody prototypical characters in the UFC warrior system, which is another B-movie monument for itself. Despite comparatively unspectacular fight scenes, this is an interesting tip for martial arts connoisseurs, which also offers realistic impressions of everyday life in the South American lower class.
