Valentin Gramlich

Valentin Gramlich (born June 21, 1948 in Tettnang ) is a German political official . From 2006 to 2011 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture of the State of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1967 at the Hausach grammar school and completing military service (1967-69), Gramlich studied chemistry from 1969 to 1974 at the Albert Ludwig University in Freiburg . From 1974 to 1975 he also attended the preparatory service for the higher teaching post. From 1975 to 1979 he wrote his dissertation at the chair for physical chemistry at the University of Freiburg, while teaching chemistry and physics at the Emmendingen Business School . 1979 also took place in Freiburg, the promotion of Doctor of Science .

From 1979 to 1986, Gramlich worked as a consultant at the Federal Ministry of Education and Science in Bonn, after which he became head of department at the Federal Institute for Vocational Training in Berlin. In 1991 he moved to the state administration of Saxony-Anhalt and was initially a department head in the Ministry of Education. From 1994 until his appointment as State Secretary in 2006, he headed various departments within the State Chancellery of Saxony-Anhalt .

Valentin Gramlich is married and has five children.

From 2006 to 2011, Gramlich was State Secretary for Science, Research and Culture in the Ministry of Culture of the State of Saxony-Anhalt, while Winfried Willems was Head of Office and State Secretary for Education . When the Haseloff I government took office in April 2011, Gramlich was put into temporary retirement.
