Valeriya Korotenko ( Russian Валерия Коротенко ; born January 29, 1984 in Baku ) is an Azerbaijani volleyball player who currently plays for Azerrail Baku .

Career

Valeriya Korotenko started playing volleyball in the local school team when she was nine. She played for Lokomotiv Baku in 2000/01 and moved to local rivals Azerrail Baku in 2001 , where she still plays today (apart from a brief assignment in Switzerland in 2007 at VBC Voléro Zurich and 2007/08 in Turkey at Fenerbahçe Istanbul ).

Valeriya Korotenko played 180 times for the Azerbaijani national team and was voted best libero at the 2005 European Championships .

Valeriya Korotenko is married to the Azerbaijani judoka Nicat Məmmədov .
