The Valsorey Glacier (French Glacier de Valsorey ) is a valley glacier in the southwestern Valais Alps , in the canton of Valais in Switzerland . It is approximately 3.4 km long with an average width of 300 m and covers an area of approximately 2.3 km².

The Valsorey Glacier has its origin on the firn-covered summit of Mont Vélan in the southwest of the Grand Combin massif at around 3700  m . The glacier first flows in an arc to the northeast, then to the north, and later to the northwest. In the east it is flanked by a ridge with numerous rock peaks (up to 3400  m ), over which the border between Italy and Switzerland runs ; the western boundary is the Mont de la Gouille ( 3212  m ). The glacier tongue is currently at an altitude of around 2400  m . This is where the Valsorey brook rises and flows into the Dranse d'Entremont .

At its peak during the Little Ice Age , the Valsorey Glacier extended more than 1 km further down the valley, receiving additional ice from another glacier on the northern slope of Mont Vélan, the Tseudet Glacier ( Glacier de Tseudet in French , 2.3 km long).
