The Varosa ( Portuguese Rio Varosa ) is a left (southern) tributary of the Douro with a length of about 15.7 km, which flows exclusively through the district of Viseu in the region of northern Portugal . It rises in the Serra de Leomil , is dammed up by the Varosa dam (port. Barragem do Varosa ) to a reservoir (port. Albufeira da Barragem do Varosa ) and finally flows into the Douro opposite Peso da Régua .
