Vasile Fanache

Vasile Fanache (* 5. April 1934 in Ghirdoveni , county Dambovita , † 13. October 2013 in Cluj-Napoca ) was a Romanian linguist and Rumänist .

life and work

Fanache studied philology at the University of Cluj (graduation 1958). In 1969 he received his doctorate with a thesis on the poetry of Mihai Beniuc (1907–1988).

From 1976 to 1979 he taught Romanian Studies at the Sorbonne . From 1979 to 2001 he was a professor at the Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj , then at the University of Alba Iulia .
