Vassline is a metalcore band from Seoul , South Korea, founded in 1996 .

history

Vassline was founded in 1996 in the South Korean capital Seoul and, after several line-up changes, consists of singer Shin Woo-Seok, guitarist Jo Min-Yeong, as well as bassist Lee Gi-Ho and drummer Seung Moon-Yung. The latter also plays in the South Korean metal band Metamorphosis . Guitarist Kangto Lee left the group to get on with his work with Watchout! while drummer Choi Hyeon-Jin continues his academic career.

In her career, Vassline has released four full studio albums, three compilations, two EPs, and a demo. The 2004 released Blood of Immortality was nominated for a Korean Music Awards , the South Korean equivalent of the US Grammys , in the category of Best Rock Album and won that award the following year .

In September 2005, the band played their first three concerts in the United States , two of which were in Chicago , Illinois . The group was also seen in the opening act for Shadows Fall and Arkangel .

In the local metal scene, Vassline are considered to be the pioneers of South Korean metal core.

style

Vassline's music on Blood of Immortality is at times comparable to groups like Terror and Comeback Kid . The band processes influences from European-style metalcore and Scandinavian death metal .
