Johann Heinrich von Sweerts-Reist (born June 21, 1658 in Groß-Peterwitz , Principality of Opole-Ratibor ; † June 1702 in Breslau , Principality of Breslau ) was canon and vicar general of the Principality of Breslau .

Life

Johann Heinrich Sweerts, also Germanized Schwertz, Freiherr von Reist, was a son of the imperial officer and landowner Franz Johann von Sweerts-Reist (1613–1700) from the Spanish Netherlands , who was married to Barbara Anna Freiin von Krafft (1636–1683) , Daughter of the Imperial Colonel Heinrich Krafft von Lammersdorf. He attended high school in Glatz and studied philosophy at the University of Breslau . From 1676 to 1679 he studied theology in Rome as an alumne at the Collegium Germanicum . On May 27, 1684 he was ordained a priest in Neisse . In 1685 he became canon, in 1692 also cathedral choirmaster in Breslau. From 1693 to 1700 he was vicar general of Bishop Franz Ludwig von Pfalz-Neuburg .
