Vatroslav Lichtenegger (* 1809 in Poljčane , today Slovenia , † April 15, 1885 in Zagreb , today Croatia ) was an Austro-Croatian composer.

Life

In 1861 Lichtenegger harmonized the national anthem of Croatia - " Lijepa naša domovino ". He died at the age of 75 and found his final resting place in the Mirogoj cemetery in Zagreb.

Lichtenegger is the father of the opera singer Mathilde Mallinger .
