Veda Ann Borg (born January 11, 1915 in Boston , Massachusetts , † August 16, 1973 in Hollywood , California ) was an American actress .

life and career

Veda Ann Borg, the daughter of the Swedish immigrant and painter Gottfried Borg, began her career as a model in the early 1930s in New York. The Paramount Pictures they took in 1936 under contract and offered her the chance to first supporting roles. After a car accident in 1939, she had to undergo extensive plastic surgery, which, however, did not prevent her film career. She appeared in more than 100 films and also took on a number of roles in the then relatively new medium of television. The blonde was often seen in self-confident or cheeky roles, for example as a showgirl or the lover of a rich man. Her best-known appearances include supporting roles in Kid Galahad - With Hard Fists (1937), As Long as a Heart Beats (1945), Love Is Not That Simple (1947) and Heavy Boys - Easy Girls (1956).

Her first marriage was briefly in 1942 with Paul Herrick and then from 1946 to 1958 with the director Andrew V. McLaglen , with whom she had three children. In the early 1960s, Borg retired after a guest role in the series The Fisher Family ; she died of cancer in 1973 at the age of 58.
