Veikko Karppinen (born January 30, 1986 in Kajaani ) is a Finnish ice hockey player who has been under contract with Hokki Kajaani in the Mestis since 2011 .

Career

Veikko Karppinen began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Hokki Kajaani , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Mestis , the second Finnish division, in the 2003/04 season . He then moved to the U20 juniors from Kärpät Oulu , for whose professional team he played in the SM-liiga for the first time in the 2006/07 season . In his first season at Kärpät, he became a Finnish champion with the team . Karppinen had scored four points, including two goals, in 38 games. In the following season , the attacker received even more ice age and prepared five goals in 48 games. In addition, he was allowed to play for the first time in the playoffs, in which he remained unpunished in two games and was champion with Kärpät for the second time in a row. In the 2008/09 season Karppinen was on the ice in all four group games of Kärpät in the Champions Hockey League and was runner-up with his team in the SM-liiga.

For the 2011/12 season Karppinen returned firmly to his hometown club Hokki Kajaani in the Mestis, after he had occasionally played on loan for the team in previous years.
