The Velie Nunatak is a Nunatak in the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . It rises 16 km north of Mount Moses in the Hudson Mountains . With a height of 574 m, it is one of the highest peaks in this mountain region.
The United States Geological Survey mapped it using surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after Edward C. Velie (* 1938), a meteorologist who worked in 1967 on the Byrd station was operating.
