Venetiko ( Greek Βενέτικο ) is an uninhabited small island in Messenia . It is located south of Cape Akritas near Koroni and is occasionally counted among the islands of the Messenian Inousses .
The ancient name was Theganoussa ( Θηγανούσσα ), Pausanias mentions the island as a "desert island".
The island is designated as a diving area. With Sapientza , Schiza and Cape Akritas it is registered as a protected area in the Natura 2000 ecological network of the EU .
