The Venta Plateau is one of 1800 m to 2000 m rising plateau in the Australian Antarctic Territory . In the Britannia Range of the Transantarctic Mountains , it is 6 km east of Haven Mountain between the head ends of the Isca Valley and the Lemanis Valley .
A geological team from the University of Waikato , who worked in this area between 1978 and 1979, named it based on the name of the Britannia Range. The name giver is the name for the southern English city of Winchester in Roman times .
