The Lemanis Valley is a valley in the Australian Antarctic Territory . In the Britannia Range , it is 11 km west-northwest of Derrick Peak between the Ituna Valley and the Lindum Valley . The valley entrance is taken by a side tongue of the Hatherton Glacier .
A team of New Zealand geologists from the University of Waikato , who carried out investigations in this area between 1978 and 1979, named the valley based on the name of the village of Lympne in the English county of Kent in Roman times (see Portus Lemanis ).
