The Ituna Valley is a narrow and ice-free valley in the Australian Antarctic Territory . In the Britannia Range , it lies between the Isca Valley and the Lemanis Valley . The valley opens eight miles west-northwest of Derrick Peak in a northerly direction to the Hatherton Glacier .
A team of New Zealand geologists from the University of Waikato , who carried out surveys in this area between 1978 and 1979, named the valley based on the name of the River Eden in the English county of Cumbria in Roman times .
