Vera Alb Dreh ( February 12, 1895 - May 25, 1971 ) was a Slovenian poet .

Life

Her mother Marija Kessler , a German, and her father Rudolph Kessler were well known in Ljubljana in the Slovenian literary scene, which was shaped by, among others, Oton Župančič , Ivan Cankar and Fran Alb nearly .

Vera Albdreh studied at the University of Vienna . In 1919 she married the poet and critic Fran Alb nearly . In 1944, as a member of the Osvobodilna Fronta resistance organization, she was deported by the National Socialists to the Ravensbrück concentration camp .

After the war she moved with her husband to Ljubljana, where she worked as a publicist and in the Slovenian section of the PEN club .
