Vera Klima (born September 27, 1985 in Rosenheim , Germany ) is a German singer and songwriter .

Life

Vera Klima is the daughter of the music cabaret artist Winfried Klima and grew up in a musical family in Chiemgau . She learned to play the violin at the age of 5 and later taught herself to play the guitar . At the age of 11 she wrote her first song and founded the band “Klima” with her sister Sarah. After graduating from high school in 2005, Vera was accepted at the Popakademie Mannheim, but did not take up the place because she wanted to devote herself fully to the “Climate” project.

Klima received the “Promotion Prize for Young Songpoets” ( BR ), won the “Songwriters Live Award” and was awarded the “ German Rock and Pop Prize ” in three categories. In 2008 the first album "Alle dein Lieder" was created on his own initiative. "Unterwegs" followed four years later, still on their own, before "Klima" signed with Universal in 2014 and became known to a wider audience in 2016 with the album "Irgendwann ist now".

As support from PUR , “Klima” gained a growing fan base, especially through the song “Sister Heart”. In 2016 the two sisters separated musically.

Vera, always the musical heart of the band, has been running the project on her own ever since. This was followed by their first own tour of Germany in early 2017, as well as concerts as support by Johannes Oerding , Andreas Bourani and Max Mutzke .
