Founding of the association and goals

The association was founded on the private initiative of several families from Bavaria , Berlin , North Rhine-Westphalia and Thuringia , among others ; since the end of 2011 the association has been entered in the Mönchengladbach register of associations. It does not pursue any commercial goals and is recognized as a non-profit organization. Furthermore, he sees himself as non-partisan and non-denominational and does not belong to any particular secular or religious worldview.

Goals and Activities

The aim of the association is to point out the needs of large families to business, politics and the media, to clarify the value of children to society and to be a supportive point of contact for large families. According to the association, the current family policy , flanked by the economy, focuses mainly on the compatibility of work and family . As a result, the association sees the large family as a model of life out of focus and misses the foresight with regard to demographic change . Together with scientists and experts, the KRFD is working on suggestions for improving the situation with large numbers of children. It collects information and specialist knowledge about the current living conditions, opportunities and burdens of families. He brings this information into the discourse through statements or the like, as most recently in the context of the study “Multi-child families in Germany” on July 15, 2014 initiated by the federal government. The association advocates making family policy broader and more broad-based among political decision-makers to take into account the specific needs of large families. The association also advocates an adequate pension for parents with large families and especially against old-age poverty among mothers.

Services

Two initiatives have emerged from the association that focus on the topic of family friendliness and family support . The Familie3plus program tries to bring companies and families together with a tailor-made pricing policy . Together with partners in business, offers are created exclusively for association members. On the other hand, the association offers its members an overview of public sector offers such as the Hessen Family Card, social counseling, its own seal of approval for family-friendly products and occasional writing competitions.

activities

Representatives of the association were invited by Federal Interior Minister Friedrich and Federal Family Minister Schröder for a personal interview. The association carried out a petition from April to October 2012 calling for an end to the structural disadvantage of families in the German social security system. Of the 50,000 votes that would have been necessary for a hearing by the Petitions Committee of the German Bundestag , only 1683 came through .
