Association of North German Housing Companies

The Association of North German Housing Companies eV (VNW) is a regional housing industry auditing and interest group.

The Association of North German Housing Companies (VNW) represents over 300 housing cooperatives and associations in Hamburg , Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Schleswig-Holstein . Around 1.4 million people live in their apartments.

The VNW was founded on November 2, 1900 in Ellerbek near Kiel by the Schleswig-Holstein building cooperatives, at that time still as an association of Schleswig-Holstein building cooperatives based in Kiel. The first association director was Peter Christian Hansen , who had made a significant contribution to the unification of housing cooperatives.

The VNW is based in Hamburg and has offices in Kiel and Schwerin . He is a member of the GdW Federal Association of German Housing and Real Estate Companies (GDW) and of the Working Group for Contemporary Construction
