Association of Technical Analysts in Germany

The Association of Technical Analysts in Germany e. V. (abbreviated: VTAD ) is a non-profit association that was founded in 1992. It is the German national association of the International Federation of Technical Analysts (IFTA), an umbrella organization based in the USA to which more than 5,000 technical financial analysts worldwide belong. As of November 2019, the association has more than 1,300 members in Germany.

The members of the VTAD submit to the IFTA's code of conduct (“Code of Ethics”), which is intended to document the seriousness and independence of the technical analysts. They meet regularly in regional meetings. Specialist seminars on trading strategies , risk and money management are just as much a part of the offer as basic seminars on technical analysis .

Goal setting

The aim of the Association of Technical Analysts in Germany is to promote technical analysis through

  • Formation of a common interest group,
  • Establishment of recognized qualifications (CFTe / MFTA),
  • regular specialist lectures in the regional groups,
  • Cooperation with scientific organizations,
  • Specialist publications,
  • Cooperation with the international umbrella organization IFTA.

One of the main tasks of VTAD is to establish training and quality standards in Germany. With the training courses offered by the IFTA to become a Certified Financial Technician (CFTe) or a Master of Financial Technical Analysis (MFTA), technical analysts have the opportunity to document their qualifications with an internationally recognized certificate.

According to § 9 of the statutes, the general assembly can resolve the formation of an advisory board to advise the board. Furthermore, according to § 7, Section 7, the board of directors can appoint assessors who can participate in board meetings but are not entitled to vote.

Regional groups

The VTAD is divided into nine regional groups ( Berlin , Düsseldorf , Frankfurt , Freiburg im Breisgau , Hamburg , Hanover , Munich , Nuremberg and Stuttgart ).
