The constitution of the state of Baden of May 18, 1947 was the constitution of the state of Baden , which was part of the French occupation zone and the former state of Baden of the Federal Republic of Germany . It was in force from May 19, 1947 to November 19, 1953.

The state of Baden merged with Württemberg-Hohenzollern and Württemberg-Baden in the state of Baden-Württemberg on April 25, 1952 .

The constitution was divided into five main sections: basic rights , basic duties and community life, state structure, protection of the constitution and the final clauses.

The Consultative State Assembly of the State of Baden adopted the draft constitution it had drawn up in its 16th session on April 21, 1947 with 40 votes to twelve. After the French military government had approved the text of the constitution on April 25, 1947, the constitution of the state of Baden was submitted to the population for a vote at the same time as the election for the first state parliament on May 18, 1947 and accepted with 67.9% of the valid votes cast .

The constitution came into force on May 19, 1947. It was amended by the law of February 28, 1951 ( GVBl. P. 183) and repealed by Article 94 paragraph 2 of the constitution of the state of Baden-Württemberg of November 11, 1953 on November 19, 1953.
