The transport operating company Passau mbH (VBP) is the regional public transport company in Passau . It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Stadtwerke Passau . Since it was founded in 2007, it has operated city bus transport in the city on eleven main routes, four minibus routes and the city bus.
Lines of the VBP
The company currently operates eleven main routes and four minibus routes. On behalf of VBP, the city bus and a special line to the upper house are also operated, although these two lines are not integrated in the regular city bus tariff. The hub of the city bus system is the ZOB, where you can change between all lines and many RBO lines.

Vehicle fleet
The fleet consists of 41 buses of the brands Mercedes-Benz and Solaris . Vehicles of the types Mercedes-Benz Citaro O 530, O 530 G and O 530 GÜ (also as Citaro 2) as well as Solaris Urbino 12 and Urbino 18 are used. Citaro K and Mercedes-Benz Sprinters are used on the K1-K4 minibus lines. Heuliez GX137s are used on the Citybus line.
history
In summer 2019, a new AVL and ticket printer were introduced for the first time. Tear-off pad tickets continued to be sold on subcontractors' buses until 2020.
On September 1st, 2019, Stadtwerke took over the Citybus, which had been subcontracted for over 30 years.
Tariff
VBP tariffs according to its own in-house tariff. There is no transport association . There are single tickets , multi-ride cards (four trips) and season tickets available.
The Passau semester ticket , which was introduced in the 2013 summer semester, is valid for students on all VBP lines.
The City-Ticket and thus the BahnCard 100 as well as the Bayernticket are also valid on the VBP buses .
There is no association with the tariffs of the Verkehrsgemeinschaft Landkreis Passau (VLP).
Subcontractors
In addition to its own 41 buses, VBP rents around 40 buses from subcontractors. The Niedermayer travel company drives up to eleven city buses (mainly Mercedes-Benz Citaro 2), the Eichberger travel company with up to ten. The minibus lines are operated by the companies Hubinger and Tausch, two Mercedes-Benz Citaro K, one Citaro 2 and three Mercedes-Benz Sprinters are in use. Eichberger drives a 16-seater Sprinter on the Oberhaus bus.
